Founded in December 2009 with the aim of introducing and promoting this sport in Ticino, the Ascona Polo Club is organising the second international tournament in our region.
In Switzerland, this discipline is already established in other prestigious locations, including St. Moritz, Zurich, Bern and Geneva, involving some one-hundred and fifty active players.
More than 2000 years old, and nicknamed "the sport of Kings", polo is a fascinating and unique sport thanks to the symbiosis between horse and rider, speed and elegance, and the relationship between individual ability and team strategy. Six International teams complete with their horses are set to compete on the grounds of Ascona's old airport, in the second tournament South of the Alps. For both enthusiasts and the curious, an unmissable event!
