The museum is housed in Remo Rossi’s former atelier, which has been kept in its original form. The lack of a heating system means that the museum is not open during the winter months.

Days when the museum is open in the afternoon (14.00 – 16.00):
For 2011 the Foundation Council has decided to keep the museum open non-stop in the afternoon at times of increased demand (holiday weekends and during the Film Festival).
The following periods have been chosen:

• from 30.03 til 03.04 (Camellias' Show)
• from 22 .04 til 01.05 (Easter)
• evening of the 21.05 (Notte bianca)
• from 02.06 til 05.06 (Ascension Day)
• from 11.06 til 13.06 (Whitsunday)
• from 23.06 til 26.06 (Corpus Domini)
• from 03.08 til 13.08 (Fil Festival of Locarno)
