Once there follow the flat path until Contra, passing by Orselina and Brione s/Minusio. Up there you will be surrounded by nature and wonderful chestnut forests: don’t miss the chance to enjoy the magnificent view over Lago Maggiore (Lake Maggiore) and the city of Locarno. On the way you will find votive chapels and, nearby Valle Resa (Resa Valley), a Roman Bridge. Once in Contra you can walk or take the public transports to return to Locarno. Points of interest: Locarno Monti (Locarno Mounts): • Chiesa SS Trinità (SS Trinità Church) dated from 1621 Orselina: • Santuario della Madonna del Sasso (Sanctuary of Madonna del Sasso): this sanctuary is located where, in 1480, Friar Bartolomeo saw Our Lady. It was built in 1487 and subsequently enlarged. Along the Via Crucis, that from Locarno leads to the Sanctuary, you will find many Lombard Chapels. Brione s/Minusio: • Roman Bridge
