New hut - 27 beds with blankets and mattresses located above Sonogno and not far from Lake Barone. Suitable region for hikes in a fairytale setting.
Access routes: from Sonogno 4h (trained hiker). From Prato Sornico via Bocchetta di Campala (experienced hiker) via the new SAV hut in Soveltra.
Traverses: to the Alpe Sponda hut via the Barone pass (2582 m) 4h, to the Cógnora hut via Passo Piatto (experienced hiker) 5h. Hiking tours Lake Barone, Lake Porchieirsc - descent to Prato Sornico via the Campala pass and Soveltra hut (2323 m) VAV.
Ascents: Pizzo Barone (hikers) - Pizzo Campioni - Pizzo Scinghino - Corona di Redorta - Pizzo Campala - Pizzo Madas.
Nature: Lake Barone and Lake Porchieirsc. A large group of ibex has been present on Pizzo Barone and its surroundings for several years.
