Charlotte Bara – Danzatrice dallo spirito ardente

From to

The Museo Castello San Materno begins its 2021 exhibition season by paying homage to the "sacred" dancer Charlotte Bara (1901-1986) who lived in the Castello San Materno since her father, Paul Bachrach, bought it in 1919. The exhibition features a selection of photographs, paintings, drawings, sketches, letters, posters, playbills and diaries from the artist's extensive collection in the archives of the Municipal Museum of Ascona, documenting the dancer's artistic career, beginning in Brussels in 1915 and ending in the last years of her intense life in Ascona.
