Seven contemporary artists (Hartmut Austen, Othmar Eder, Lamar Petersen, Sara Rossi, Judit Villiger, Letizia Werth, Anna-Sabina Zürrer) engage with their archives and intervene on the visual material they gathered from flea markets, attics, museums and libraries. The photographs, newspaper cuttings, advertisement graphics and other imagery in the focus of this exhibition represent our cultural heritage.
In the juxtaposition of the seven positions the individual creative strategies emerge. The artists thus explore our relationship with analogue pictures, their creation but also their disappearance. Through their works they question the significance of analogue image sources at a time when digitalisation is reshaping our dealings with visual material.
