The town of Cevio is located in the middle of the impressive Maggia Valley, one of the most visited mountain valleys in northern Ticino and around half an hour's drive from the cities of Ascona and Locarno. Here the valley forks and leads west into the Valle di Campo and Bosco Gurin, while the main valley merges seamlessly into the Val Bavona and Val Lavizzara to the northeast. At this point, on the western slope, lies the hamlet of Boschetto, a tranquil spot surrounded by ancient chestnut forests, at the foot of an impressive waterfall.
Boschetto has been able to retain its original charm under strict monument protection. Even today, in the narrow streets lined with stone slabs, you can still glimpse the austere life of the villagers in the 17th century, as the local writer Plinio Martini unvarnishedly describes it in his books. Be it a cooling bath in the Maggia or a hike in the Southern Alps; Boschetto is a place to linger, a place to experience peace.
