Cavergno - Piano di Peccia

Cavergno

The gateway to the Lavizzara Valley, Cavergno is the starting point of this excursion through a section of the valley. As well as a spectacular natural landscape, this walk offers an opportunity to discover works of art and the valley's rich cultural heritage.

From terracing and the characteristic stables in Brontallo - the first village along the path - to the charming oratory in Menzonio and the vallages of Broglio and Prato Sornico, of fascinating historical value.
When you reach the village of Peccia, enter the Peccia valley and head for Piano di Peccia, where white marble is quarried from the mountains: the same marble which is sculpted at the School of Sculpture in Peccia.

The region offers a wide range of excursions from these villages with stunning alpine scenery.
