Stefania Casellini, Incoming & Hospitality Manager at Ascona-Locarno Tourism. I have been in this business forever. Twenty years ago, there was no MICE department in our organisation, but even then, we realised that the Ascona-Locarno region needed someone to take care of this customer segment. So, the Incoming & Hospitality department was created within the tourism organisation. I have been responsible for it ever since.
My role is mainly to help people organise their MICE event on a practical level and make their lives easier so that they can organise the event stress-free and enjoy the moment when it happens. This is important to me, whether it's meetings, incentive trips, conferences, gatherings, private events like weddings or large events that we work with every year. My job is to make people happy, which is also very satisfying for me. It is also a very varied job. Even though many of the events seem very similar, every project I help with is different, that's what makes this job so exciting. Therefore, I strive to make sure that everything meets my clients' needs and am as attentive and precise as possible when it comes to details.
Why should you entrust me with the organisation of your MICE event? My speciality is to supervise the events from A to Z: from the conception, through all phases of the organisation, to the event itself. I know the area and the partners who operate here, and this allows me to always choose the facilities and activities that best suit our clients' wishes. In the two decades that I have been working in the field of MICE, I have gained experience with many different types of clients. Thanks to organising congresses and incentive trips, I have been able to look inside companies and broaden my knowledge on a wide range of topics (from medicine to law to gymnastics). I have managed many different types and sizes of events, from a few dozen to several hundred people, and organised the stays of large and small incentive groups. These experiences are now part of my baggage. Through them, I have developed new skills and gained a feel for the people who come to us, in order to convey the emotions of our region through the right activities, proposed to groups who can fully appreciate them.
