We have reached the fourth evening and only date in November of the Cambusindie Music Festival, where young bands and artists from Ticino can find a welcoming space for their music.
We look forward to seeing you on Friday, November 7, at 8:30 p.m. at the Teatro Cambusa in Locarno, with singer-songwriter Victoria Alexandra and musician Romeo Taddei, aka Deiro, accompanied by his band.
VICTORIA ALEXANDRA (acoustic pop)
A singer-songwriter born and raised in Lugano, with Italian and American roots, she decided to move to London to cultivate her passion for music. Although she lives abroad, she retains a deep connection with Switzerland, where she returns regularly both to embrace her family and to share her music with the Ticino audience, which she continues to consider an integral part of her artistic journey. In 2019, she took part in the RSI music competition “La Mia Banda Suona il Folk” (My Band Plays Folk), marking a significant milestone in her career. Since then, she has continued to seek opportunities to express herself artistically in her homeland, without ever losing touch with her roots. In London, he performs regularly in various venues, offering original songs that create intimate and engaging atmospheres. At the end of 2024, he released his first single, A Letter, which was also featured on the program “BandZ On Air” on Rete Tre. The song was inspired by reflections on the last words that often accompany the end of a relationship, sometimes entrusted to letters that arrive months or even years later. The artist has experienced these situations firsthand, choosing to transform them into music as a form of catharsis and sharing. He is currently working on his first EP.
DEIRO (acoustic/Latin pop)
Romeo Taddei, aka Deiro, was born in Montevideo, Uruguay, and moved to Ticino at the age of six, bringing with him the cultural nuances of South America, which soon blended with those of Europe. Following in his father's footsteps, he grew up in a family where music was an integral part of everyday life: his father, Claudio Taddei, was a much-loved and respected Uruguayan-Swiss artist and singer-songwriter. His father's influence was a source of deep inspiration for Romeo, an emotional and artistic legacy that has accompanied him since childhood. Raised between two worlds, Deiro maintains a strong connection to his roots, enriched by numerous trips between Latin America and Europe. It was during the pandemic, in a period of forced pause and introspection, that he discovered his musical voice. He began playing the guitar and singing, giving shape to a personal and authentic language. His first important experiences were not long in coming: he took part in X Factor and obtained a recording contract in Rome, enjoying an intense artistic interlude in the Italian capital. This experience put him to the test and offered him a direct insight into the professional music world. However, it was upon his return to Ticino that Deiro rediscovered himself and embarked on a more conscious solo career, consisting of concerts, experimentation, and artistic growth. Today, he brings to the stage a musical offering rich in energy and emotion, mixing songs in Spanish and Italian, covers, and original songs that reflect his personal history and influences. The new songs, scheduled for release later this year, represent the heart of his project: a sincere exploration of emotions, memories, and identity, always with an eye on the audience.
