Dante's XXXIII canto of Dante's Paradise

The Dante Alighieri Society of Locarno, on Monday 23 January at 6 p.m. in the Corporazione Borghesi room, proposes "L'amor che move 'l sol e l'altre stelle", a lecture-reading of the XXXIII canto of Dante's Paradiso by actor Marco Di Giorgio.

Having reached the end of his otherworldly journey, Dante faces the greatest challenge for a poet: to put into words the unknowable experience of the presence of the divine principle.
Dante, overcoming himself, arrives at a philosophical poetry capable, however, of translating complex theological concepts into images, giving them concreteness and materiality, to the point of preluding abstract art. A challenge that the actor Marco Di Giorgio will repropose by reciting the entire canto.
