Fritz Overbeck – Nell'incanto di Worpswede

From to

The German artist Fritz Overbeck, originally from Bremen, died at the age of just 39. He is best known for being a member of the Worpswede art colony, which was formed at the end of the 19th century against progress and industrialisation, in favour of a return to the original values of nature and rural traditions. The exhibition presents around forty works – paintings, watercolours and engravings – which show how much the landscape was his favourite subject, so much so that it is treated in all forms and techniques and in which the colours, now soft, now stronger and more expressive, reflect the artist's vision and his all-encompassing relationship with nature.
