25.06.2022

Joseph Mallord William Turner (London, 23 April 1775 - Chelsea, 19 December 1851) was one of the best known exponents of Romantic painting and is considered a forerunner of Impressionism. At the beginning of the 19th century he travelled extensively in Europe, spending periods in Switzerland and Italy, places of great inspiration for his famous paintings.
Art historian Nicola Moorby dedicates a lecture to this period in the artist's life.
The event is organised by ETH Zürich, Université de Neuchâtel and Congressi
Stefano Franscini.
