The heart of Losone will be alive with a real Christmas village on Saturday 17 December. Numerous events are planned in the centre of the town, which has been upgraded by the construction of the new Ai Noci retirement home, to build up the excitement for the festivities. The event will start at 2pm with a Christmas market organised by the local ski club. About forty stalls - located between Casa Patrizia and Casa Ai Noci and visible until 8.30 pm - will offer typical products, original decorations and many gift ideas, as well as a series of stations where you can refresh yourself with delicacies and hot drinks.
Then, at 4pm, 6pm and 8pm, the theatre tent in Via La Parè - kindly provided by the Pas de Deux Company - will host the show "Joseph's Night". An unusual look at the events of Bethlehem, experienced through the eyes of characters who are usually marginalised in the Christmas story. The production - enlivened by the live music of the Vindidit duo of Paolo Tomamichel and Sandra Eberle - culminates in the traditional living nativity scene. Admission to the show, in the preparation of which some thirty volunteers are involved and for which a collaboration with pupils from the Lausanne school is also planned, is free. For organisational reasons, however, the public is asked to buy a voucher for access to a special stand which will be open from 2 p.m. on 17 December at the entrance to the theatre tent.
In case of bad weather, the market will be cancelled, while the Christmas show will take place as usual (including the distribution of entrance vouchers).
