From September 20, 2025, to January 11, 2026, Museo Casa Rusca is pleased to host the first solo exhibition in a Swiss museum dedicated to Monia Ben Hamouda. An emerging Italian-Tunisian artist and one of the most interesting figures in Italy, her artistic research explores diverse cultural identities and their iconographic traditions. Through sculptures, installations, and large-scale paintings made with a variety of materials—from iron to wood to spices—she delves into the knowledge, traditions, and history of the Arab world. Alongside some of her earlier works, new sculptural pieces and installations created specifically for this exhibition will also be on display. The exhibition is curated by Gioia Dal Molin, art historian, curator, writer, and, since June 2025, director of the Haus für Kunst Uri in Altdorf.
In addition to the exhibition on Monia Ben Hamouda, Museo Casa Rusca is also presenting a group show—also curated by Gioia Dal Molin—focused on the artist, dancer, and choreographer Simone Forti, as well as on artists who have drawn inspiration from her work and her explorations of the body, pursuing related approaches.
