30.06.2024

Guided hike to Pizzo Leone (1659 m) in the Ronco s/Ascona Mountains with stunning views of Lake Maggiore and the islands of Brissago, Locarno, Ascona and the Gambarogno, down to Italy. The departure on foot is from the Rifugio Patriziale, passing by al Casone, an old seventeenth-century alpine pasture with its cultivated land that still retains most of its characteristic aspects of the past, to continue to Luèra, Naccio and Pizzo Leone. On the way back via Urione, we visit the Oratory of the Vergine delle Grazie in Pozzuolo, where pure and vital spring water gushes forth. According to tradition, this is the oldest chapel in the mountain area, built in the 16th century. Walking time 4 hours, 623 m elevation gain on trails T2/T3, length 9 km. Meet at Gruppaldo in Ronco s/Ascona at 8 a.m. For registration, write to: [email protected] or call Monica Pongelli at 079 610 77 35 by Friday, June 28.
