A new temporary exhibition in Casorella in the centenary of Rosalda Gilardi Bernocco.

In 1999 the sculptor Rosalda Gilardi Bernocco (1922 - 1999), Italian by birth but Ticino by adoption, donated a substantial legacy to the City of Locarno consisting of sculptures, paintings, graphics, works by other authors belonging to her personal collection, the library and numerous documentation concerning his path.

On the occasion of the centenary of the artist's birth, the Casorella Museum exhibits for the first time a significant selection of works belonging to the legacy, which testify to the quality of an artist considered one of the great figures of sculpture in the 1960s and 1970s, and a of the few to have received international recognition.

The exhibition, open from 29 October 2022 to 5 February 2023, will tell the story of Rosalda Gilardi Bernocco's research path from 1955 to the Eighties and, through the enucleation of some important themes characterizing her production, it will reveal her path from the figurative to the abstract towards monumental, rigorous and essential forms.
