STANZE di Meri Gorni

Ascona

22.03.2025

Speakers: Meri Gorni, artist and author, Gabi Scardi, curator and art historian with the poet Anna Ruchat and the poet Massimo Daviddi.

"In its long and coherent path, Stanze represents a special moment, the result of a very long-term commitment. For decades, the artist has been proposing to the poets with whom he was in contact to transcribe by hand a literary passage that is important to them. These contributions now appear, collected in the book; each of them is flanked by his own drawing made in line, depicting the poet's favorite reading angle. Once again in Gorni's work, drawing, writing and reading proceed in the same direction, intersecting". — Gabi Scardi

Can a room tell an artist? Do the poems remain written on the walls made of books or do they look out of the windows and landscapes that saw them born? Meri Gorni, an artist who combines drawing and writing, takes us into the Rooms of poets. Tables, desks or train seats are the refuges where people write and where they also read, highlighting the close relationship between intimate places, writing and reading.

In Italian. Free admission, followed by an aperitif.
