Ticino 2025: A Global Basketball Spectacle

This summer, Ticino will welcome over 6,000 participants – players, staff, and companions – for the 17th FIMBA World Maxibasketball Championship, taking place from June 27 to July 6, 2025. With 350 teams from more than 40 countries, this is the largest international basketball event ever hosted in Switzerland, and the biggest basketball event in the world.

Games will be held across 26 gyms in the region, drawing thousands of local and international fans to cheer on athletes aged 35 to 80. Beyond the courts, attendees can enjoy a festive atmosphere in three dedicated villages, with events, cultural exchanges, and opportunities to explore Ticino's breathtaking landscapes and rich culinary traditions.
