Trio Dimitri-Peña-Derpic - Folk music and songs from Bolivia

Bolivian music trio featuring Nina Dimitri, Marco Peña, and Carla Derpic.

The Dimitri-Peña-Derpic trio was formed in 2022 due to Nina Dimitri's initiative to make a record in tribute to Bolivian musicians and music groups that have been decisive in the country's folklore since the 1970s. Los Jairas, the Dominguez-Favre-Cavour trio, Julio Lavayén, among others, were the source of inspiration that forged the trio's current repertoire.

The sonic exploration of the guitar, charango, and quena, as well as the interaction between them, guide the musical research of this project.  

Each of its members, specialists in their instruments, evokes a moment in Bolivian folklore, a landscape, a feeling, the love for Bolivia, and the musical richness that emerges from this beautiful and diverse country.

Thanks to the trio, the sounds of yesterday are more alive than ever and bring with them an energy and freshness that only the magical and chance meeting of its members can generate.
