A journey through the life and work of the composer and pianist Frédéric Chopin. In a mixture of contemporary dance theatre and piano recital, the great themes in Chopin’s life are circled: his insatiable homesickness for Poland, the violence of his compositional inspiration, his illness, his shyness of audience.
The Polish word ?al denotes an ‘inconsolable pain after an irretrievable loss and surrender to imposed fate’ and represents Chopin’s attitude to life as expressed in his music.
