Workshop und performances, Collettivo Imprevisti (Festa danzante 2026)

Locarno

The Collettivo Imprevisti is a Ticino-based platform founded by interdisciplinary artists Emerson Vergel, Yara Li Mennel and Sophie Papais, who focus on improvisation and multicultural, transdisciplinary performance. Festa danzante 2026 is hosting one of their workshops and two site-specific performances.

Through physical preparation exercises, the workshop (Saturday 9 May, 10:00–12:00, Spazio Elle, Locarno) invites participants to immerse themselves in solo, duo and group work, discovering methods and techniques that open up composition in the ‘here and now’. The body becomes a space for connection, the gesture an act of choice, improvisation a shared ground. The workshop is open to dancers, musicians, performers and anyone who feels the desire to inhabit movement, play and creation, in a welcoming and inclusive setting.

The group performances will take place first in the lush Monte Verità Foundation Park as part of the “Giardini in Arte” event (Sunday 10 May, 11:00–11:30), and the second within the walls of the Casorella Museum in Locarno, which from 28 March to 30 May 2026 is hosting the 3rd edition of “La Regionale - Art Exhibition of Italian-speaking Switzerland’ (Sunday 10 May, 15:00–15:45 pm), where each of the four performers will ‘engage in dialogue’ in a solo performance with a work of art or a room.
