The walk is suitable for everyone, which is why it is so popular. If that is too far, you can shorten it as you wish. The tour starts in Tenero and leads along the lake to Locarno. The path passes numerous villas, including the former barracks "Cà di ferro" from the 16th century, an important monument. Shortly after you reach Rivapiana, featuring welcoming grassy areas and little sandy beaches. Further you can see the San Quirico church inside the park of the same name. You now arrive at the Muralto lakeside, featuring a wide range of restaurants. After having passed Locarno harbour through the pretty Jean Arp gardens, where you can admire nine works by the artist. Continue on through Parco della Pace and the Parco delle Camelie (featuring more than 900 varieties!). Follow the river Maggia to the new pedestrian bridge and cross it. The path leads through the alleys of Ascona to the Golf Ascona. Back at the lake, the tour ends at the picturesque lakeside promenade of Ascona.
