From Verscio, where the Teatro Dimitri is located, reachable by car or the Centovallina (Locarno-Domodossola train), the tour starts steeply through the pretty village centre, which you should definitely pay a little attention to. The trail, which was newly built a few years ago, leads up towards the Oratorio Sant'Anna. The easily accessible path, which includes many steps at the beginning, leads through a wonderful landscape of chestnut trees, birches and beeches. Arrived at the oratory after about 200 metres of altitude, you can enjoy a wonderful view. The small not accessible chapel dates from the 17th century. Now you descend over stone steps towards Tegna before climbing up again. The last stretch before reaching the Castelliere di Tegna is again steep. Once at the prehistoric ruins, you can enjoy a panoramic view over the Centovalli to Lake Maggiore. Take time to study the information boards that provide interesting information about the castle ruins. Now head back along the same path until the trail splits and you descend the last stretch to Tegna. In Tegna there are various possibilities to stop for a bite to eat and the Centovallina takes you back to Locarno.
