Winterland 2023/24

In Winterland, the enchantment of winter invades Locarno between 24 November 2023 and 7 January 2024 with exciting experiences and activities for all tastes - ice rink, top concerts and a Christmas market. All this is made even more extraordinary by an audiovisual show projected onto the picturesque facades of Piazza Grande. A winter world of fun and magic awaits you under the stars.

Activities:

Audiovisual show: The Piazza Grande is transformed into an open-air stage where the magical fairy tale "The Star Fishers" (i pescatori di stelle) is brought to life in a unique audiovisual show. The story is projected onto the Locarno Town Hall (Palazzo del Municipio) every hour from 5 pm during Winterland.

Ice skating: What would Christmas be without an ice rink? Admission is free for everyone and, if required, skates and equipment can be hired on site for CHF 5.

Ice Toboga: The brave can hurtle down the over 5 metre high and 30 metre long ice slide on a rubber tyre. 3 descents cost CHF 5.

Christmas market: It's impossible to resist the offerings at the Christmas market. As you stroll between the little wooden huts, you will be fascinated by handicrafts, Christmas decorations, culinary specialities and much more. This is the ideal place to find gift ideas for your loved ones or to treat yourself.

Food stands & bars: Winterland offers a wide range of culinary delights. There are several food stands with culinary offerings ranging from burgers to Thai, from piadinas to winter specialities such as crêpes and raclette. There are also four bars where you can enjoy a mulled wine or an aperitif with friends. Don't miss the signature cocktails.
