The Capanna Alpe Canaa is a cozy hut at the foot of Pizzo Cramalina, with a unique view over the Lodano Valley, whose ancient beech forests are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. From Alpe Canaa, the trail descends Pizzo della Bassa to the pass of the same name, through which you enter the Onsernone Valley. The descent to the idyllic village of Vergeletto passes through Gresso. The scent of popcorn can already be detected from afar. Its origin is the mill in Vergeletto, where Farina Bóna, a toasted corn flour, is traditionally produced. From Vergeletto, the cable car goes up to Alpe Salei, a very popular destination among hikers for its beauty and excellent location. A short walk from the cable car station leads to the Laghetto di Salei, a true gem surrounded by larches and rocks. After a long day in nature, the Capanna Alpe Salei offers all comforts for the night.
Attention: In the area around Capanna Alpe Salei, there are flocks guarded by protection dogs.
