The route starts in Vergeletto, an idyllic village in the Onsernone Valley, also known for Farina Bóna, a flour made from toasted corn. A well-marked trail leads along the river through the Camana Valley, which then becomes the Fùmegn Valley. Up to Fùmegn the ascent is gentle, then it becomes steep. In the dense forest, the path climbs up to the Alpe di Doia, where there is a magnificent view over the Fornale di Categn and, beyond, the Ribbia area. The ascent continues to the Bocchetta di Doia, the highest point of the route. To the right of the pass is Pizzo Cramalina. Now you can already see Lake d'Alzasca, nestled like a pearl in the alpine landscape. From the lake, it is just a stone's throw to the eponymous hut. The Alzasca Hut is a well-equipped refuge where you can end the day comfortably with a refreshing drink on the terrace.
