Mountain hut Alpe Salei

The mountain hut is located in the heart of Val Onsernone, in an ancient alpine pasture at 1,777 m, just a few steps from the small Salei Lake, well known for its panoramic view stretching all the way to Lake Maggiore. The stone building, restored from an old ‘casera’ in 1993, is staffed from May to October. The hut offers a terrace where visitors can relax and enjoy traditional dishes and homemade desserts prepared by the wardens. It has running water, solar panels for lighting, and sanitary facilities. Easily accessible via the Zott–Salei cableway, it can also be reached by several trails starting from the characteristic villages in the valley. From the hut, it is also possible to reach Monte Munzelüm and the Pilone.
