The track, that begins in the locality «Ai Piéé», winds alongside a large stretch of the Verzasca river, famous for its emerald-coloured waters and beside the well-known path «Sentierone» or «Sentiero Verzasca», one of Switzerland's most beautiful hiking tracks. The route distinguishes itself by carving its way through a beautiful and enchanting natural scenery as well as offering refreshment points (three restaurants/agritourisms) and furthermore a wood cabin, situated in a place named «Alnasca» (between Brione Verzasca and Gerra Verzasca) which is equipped with an open fire grill and where hikers and cyclists have the possibility to take a break and enjoy a picnic.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted.

The track, with various up and downhill stretches, is technically rather easy and suitable for everyone; at the arrival point, in Sonogno (900 m.a.s.l.) it is certainly worth visiting the village centre and the enchanting waterfall of Froda as well as the Val Verzasca museum, the handicraft shop and the Casa della Lana (house of wool).
