Onsernone Valley: Verscio-Vergeletto-Verscio

In Cavigliano, take the junction to the Onsernone Valley, where a long climb begins. Here, the villages appear glued to the slope. At the Ponte Oscuro bus stop (towards Russo), the road splits. On one side, continue to Spruga; on the other to Vergeletto. Once you reach the latter locality, you can smell popcorn: this is where Farina bóna, a toasted corn flour, is produced. Further along the valley, at Zott, the cable car takes you to Alpe Salei. At the Ristorante Fondovalle in Piano delle Cascine, the road ends and you return to Verscio retracing the same road.
