ASCONA MUSIC FESTIVAL DANIEL LEVY – THE VOICE OF THE PIANO The Art of Listening 25 September – 8 October 2025

The 16th edition of the Ascona Music Festival presents The Art of Listening, a pioneering format that invites audiences to experience music in its purest form. A complete immersion in the art of the great composers, through recordings regarded among the finest worldwide.
Over six events, starting from 25 September until 8 October, the Festival presents carefully curated recordings by pianist Daniel Levy, Artistic Director of the Festival, from his celebrated The Voice of the Piano series for the label Edelweiss Emission. Masterpieces by Beethoven, Schubert, Liszt, Chopin, Schumann and Brahms reveal the depth and beauty of the great piano repertoire, both solo and with orchestra.
Listening in silence, without the visual presence of the performer, becomes a rare and profound encounter with music itself. This unique experience unfolds within the serene setting of the Church of the Collegio Papio in Ascona, where the acoustics of the venue resonate with those of the legendary recording halls – from Abbey Road and Henry Wood Hall in London to historic chapels in Venice and Ascona – creating a sound world of extraordinary nuance.
