Great cinema under the stars, in the squares of Locarno. Let's celebrate is a traveling film festival founded in 2022 by the Intermunicipal Culture Commission of Locarno and Valleys (CICLV) - which brings together the cultural ministries of the entire region - to mark the 75th anniversary of the Locarno Film Festival.
The idea is both simple and ambitious: every summer, bring the magic of the big screen outside the theaters, under the stars, in enchanting locations in Locarno and Valleys, offering everyone - free of charge - a cultural experience that approximates, in part, the one enjoyed every evening in Piazza Grande during the Locarno Film Festival.
The film selection is overseen by the artistic director of the Locarno Film Festival, who each year presents eight titles linked to the Festival and the great names in cinema who have played a leading role in it. The director also personally introduces some of the festival's screenings.
