About the performance
This rock opera combines George Orwell's 1984 with songs by Muse. At its centre is Winston Smith's attempt to resist a totalitarian regime ruled by Big Brother.
Artistic concept
Directed by Marco Rampoldi with dramaturgy by Paola Ornati, the production merges spoken text and music into a continuous theatrical narrative. Arcangelo Deleo performs the leading role both as actor and singer, interpreting songs such as Psycho, Uprising, Take a Bow and Hysteria.
Highlights
The stage design reinforces the Orwellian atmosphere through an imposing scenic structure and screens that evoke surveillance and control. The songs are surtitled in Italian and integrated into a unified dramatic concept.
