Winding up by bus or car to Alpe di Neggia, from where you head towards Monte Tamaro. The trail is always well marked and leads through the beautiful natural landscape of Gambarogno. Through the mostly sparse forest, then steeply up along the rock. Some sections are equipped with ropes that you can hold on to. Now you walk along the ridge to the summit, where you have a 360° view. A large arch leads through a wonderfully green landscape to the alp Montóia, where you can eata and drink. The trail leads down to Monti Sciaga and Monti Idacca. In Monti Sciaga, by the way, traditional rustici (stone houses) can be bought for CHF 1. This is a campaign to revitalise the area and generate fresh impetus. From here, the route alternates between hiking trail and road back to the Alpe di Neggia, where the bus departs again.
