Ascona-Balladrüm-Ascona

A long staircase leads up from Ascona to Monte Verità. On the stairs, called "Scalinata della Ruga", there is a unique climate, which you can feel and see immediately. Once at the top, it is recommended to take a tour of the historical gardens of Monte Verità. The hiking trail starts to the left of the large "Parsifal" playground. Enter the forest, first on asphalt, then on a nature trail towards Balladrüm. Below Balladrüm, follow the cliff until you reach an inconspicuous path that leads to the top of the hill. With a little scrambling, you can quickly reach the top. From here you can even catch a glimpse of the Brissago Islands. The area is also very popular with climbers. Those who skip the climb continue to follow the path, which now leads back to the playground on the other side. There is a snack bar right next to the playground. You come across many funny wooden figures along the way. The way back to Ascona is the same as the way up.
