Two-day route in a purely alpine setting. A beautiful route to discover the varied natural environment of Val Verzasca.
The route starts at Brione Verzasca and ends at Sonogno. Both places are accessible by car or bus (Locarno-Tenero-Sonogno line). From Brione to Daghéi, you follow the Osura stream along an asphalt road. Several pools invite you for a refreshing swim. From Daghéi, a beautiful path leads into Val d’Osura crossing the larch forest, up to Capanna Osola (open from May to October). We recommend families to stay here overnight and return to Brione on the same route.
Across a scree you reach Rifugio Sambuco (open from May to October), where it is possible to stay overnight. A steep climb leads to Bocchetta di Mügaia, from where you can climb Monte Zucchero (approx. 20 min). Now begins the long descent into the valley. The landscape is decidedly alpine and the vegetation is sparse. On the return way you pass Püschen Negro, from which you enjoy a fantastic view over Val Redòrta.
