The artificial Lake Sambuco, located above the village of Fusio in Val Lavizzara, stretches approximately three kilometers in length and 500 meters in width. Its management is entrusted to Ofima (Officine Idroelettriche della Maggia SA). The hiking route starts from the dam, located at the beginning of the lake, where there is also a small inn, the Grottino Lago Sambuco.
The route begins by briefly following the road toward Narèt, then turns right onto a hiking path that climbs steeply to reach some rustic stone houses. From there, it continues to the left, walking above the lake towards the Alpe di Campo la Torba. The path gently winds through a series of gullies, flowering meadows, blueberry bushes, and enchanting forests.
Upon reaching Corte del Prevosto, the path splits: you need to follow the lower path that leads directly to Campo di Sotto, then continue to Grasso di Dentro. During summer, there are cattle pastures at the Alpe di Campo la Torba, and visitors can purchase fresh cheeses and other typical products directly on site.
For the return, you can retrace the same path or choose the lower road along the lake, offering an equally pleasant alternative to conclude the hike.
