Two-day route through the wild Val Pincascia. Red-white route with the possibility to extend on a blue-white alpine path.
The starting and ending point of this two-day route is Lavertezzo, reachable by car or bus (Locarno-Tenero-Sonogno line); once here, you cannot miss a visit to the "Ponte dei Salti", one of the symbols of Val Verzasca.
Val Pincascia is a long and very wild valley, and the path often goes through woods, which makes the hike pleasant in summer. After the hamlet of Pincascia, where the path forks, you continue up a steep climb to Capanna Cornavòsa (open from June to October). The unmanned hut is located on a large alpine pasture, surrounded by the powerful alpine landscape of Val Verzasca, which opens up to a fantastic panorama.
The section up to Capanna Fümègna winds along a blue-white path, with some exposed points. Alternatively, from Capanna Cornavòsa you return to Lavertezzo following the same path as the outbound. Rifugio Fümègna is staffed (open from June to October) and is located on an alpine pasture that is heavily frequented by grazing animals in summer.
