After many bends to reach it, exploring Linescio is worthwhile. The nearly 25 km of dry stone walls used to create terraces on the sloping terrain bear witness to the hard work of the past.
The route, mostly shaded, starts above the church, following stairs up to the last houses along a path leading to the main road. Along the way, old gardens with wall structures can still be found. Continuing towards the village of Camvera, home of the oldest chestnut tree in Vallemaggia, the ascent goes through the chestnut grove up to Cerentino and Piede delle Piode, passing the village parallel to the main road toward Niva.
From here the hike continues to Piano di Campo, where it briefly returns again to the road. The last part of the route leads into the Sterpa Valley, on the original hiking trail to Campo Vallemaggia. In Campo, the church is worth a visit. Check the bus schedule in advance.
