The start of this route is at Loco, reachable by car or bus. Here you can visit the mill and the Onsernone Museum. To ascend to Sella, follow a mule track passing a charming little church. After crossing the ditches, you reach Passo della Garina (where there is a possible passage to Vallemaggia) with its picturesque dry stone walls separating the pastures. The idyllic forest hides a fountain, ideal for a break in the shade. The ascent through Legunc and Forcola is pleasant. At Pizen, climb the steep stone steps up to the broad ridge and the summit of Pizzo Salmone. The spectacular view over Lake Maggiore definitely rewards the effort! The last section of the descent is demanding for the legs, along stone steps and narrow paths to the picturesque village of Auressio, where you can catch the bus.
