The tour starts in Loco, accessible by bus or car. In Loco you can visit the mill or the museum of the Onsernone Valley. Via a mule track, past a pretty little church, up to Sella. Go through trenches to Passo della Garina (crossing into Vallemaggia possible), where the dry-stone walls which separate the pastures, attract attention. In the idyllic forest there is a fountain, ideal for taking a break in the shade. A pleasant ascent via Legunc and Forcola. At Pizen over steep stone steps up to the wide ridge and up to the summit of Pizzo Salmone. The spectacular panorama far over Lake Maggiore rewards the effort! The descent to Auressio leads past an alp inhabited by sheep, through the forest down to Cortone. The last stretch to Auressio is really tough on the legs. Over stone steps and narrow alleys down to the picturesque village. From here the bus runs (check departure times).
