The white-red path from Piano di Peccia to the Poncione di Braga Hut is full of stairs: through forest and wide pastures, the ascent starts gently, but it becomes steep from Corte di Fondo di Sròdan.
The hut can already be seen from below as it is perched on a rocky spur. The landscape is dotted with green meadows, waterfalls, small streams, and high alpine peaks. Once arrived, the panoramic view and sunny terrace invite you to take a break. The hut (staffed in July and August) is accessible and open all year round (in winter it is a preferred destination for ski mountaineering).
Then continue towards Tanèda, where you encounter the sparkling Lago della Froda, with the Corte della Froda just below, active in the summer period, where Vallemaggia cheese is produced and sold. Along the gravel road, return to Piano di Peccia (check the bus schedule).
Author’s recommendation
Attention: due to landslides, the path is diverted from Piano di Peccia, Sant'Antonio locality, towards Ghèiba and the Poncione di Braga Hut, until further notice.
