From the most remote corner of the Onsernone Valley to the Centovalli: a two-day hike in the heart of an impressive alpine landscape and in the Onsernone forest reserve.
Arrival at Spruga by bus or car. Cross the Isorno river before starting the climb to Alpe Ruscada. Up to Casón, the trail climbs through the beech trees of the Onsernone forest reserve. Pass under Pizzo di Mezzodì then continue towards Alpe Ruscada. The trail continues to Capellone (with the possibility to climb Pizzo Ruscada), then along the ridge descends to Corte Nuovo (from June to October it is possible to stay overnight at the refuge). A long route with ascents and descents leads to Monte Comino (from April to October the cable car to the Verdasio station can be taken here), passing in front of the Madonna della Segna church and the peat bog. The Alla Capanna hotel offers every comfort for the night, including meals. The crossing to Alpe Mött Dürai passes over steep slopes. Descend to Costa and then to Pila to finally reach Intragna, from where the Centovallina or the Onsernone Valley bus can be taken.
Attention: the Intragna-Pila-Costa cable car is out of service until further notice due to renovation work. Information is available on the website www.ascona-locarno.com/funivia-intragna or at our information desks.
