Stage 1: Funivia Saléi-Capanna Arena

By bus or car to Vergeletto (bus direction Spruga, change at Russo). The tour can either be started in the valley or, if you don't want to make the first ascent, at the mountain station on the Alpe di Saléi (cable car runs May-October). First refreshments are available at the Capanna Alpe Saléi (May-October). A beautifully laid-out hiking trail leads across meadows and through larch forests below the Creste to the Bùsan crossing and to Pièi Bachei alp. In autumn, when the larches are golden, the atmosphere is particularly special. Some sections are even covered with stone slabs to make walking easier. The trail goes up and down to the Alpe Arena, where you can spend the night in the Capanna Alpe Arena (June-October). The hut is not staffed, but there is a kitchen, wood stove, toilet, electricity and drinks are available.

Attention: In the area around the Capanna Alpe d'Arena hut, there are herds protected by livestock guardian dogs.
