Explanation
Val Porta is nestled between the two peaks of Pizzo Vogorno (2442 m a.s.l.) and Cima di Sassello (1899 m a.s.l.). The forest reserve (641 ha) was founded in 2016 by the patriziato of Vogorno to preserve and promote the development of spontaneous fauna and flora and to preserve the genetic heritage (larch, silver fir and beech). The best way to discover this fascinating world is on a two-day hike, with an overnight stay at the Borgna hut. The tour starts in Vogorno and follows the white-red mountain trail, except for the section along the Sassello wall, which is marked white-blue. There are 25 sights to admire on the hike, many of which are traces of human use. A morphologically challenging terrain that was used by our ancestors with great ingenuity. The steep left side of the valley is difficult to access, whereas sunny pastures can be found on the right. Get to know the Val Porta and be inspired by the diverse flora and fauna.
