Challenging two-day route to Capanna Ribia with start and finish in Vergeletto. In the heart of varied and untouched vegetation typical of the Onsernone Valley.

The starting and finishing point of the hike (marked white-red-white) is Vergeletto, a characteristic village known for its mill and the production of Farina Bóna. The village can be reached by car or by bus (bus towards Spruga with a change in Russo). The route initially follows a paved road until, just below Pièi, the mountain trail begins. It continues through a beech and birch forest, and from Alp del Pianaccio onwards through a larch forest, which turns beautiful shades of gold in autumn. The path climbs mostly steeply up to Capanna Ribia. On a short section (slippery when wet), a chain has been installed. The unstaffed hut (open from June to October) is equipped with a kitchen, wood-burning stove, toilet, electricity and drinks. From the hut, you can see the “Uomo Tondo”, a large stone soldier that appears to point the way to Alpe di Categn. The descent back to Vergeletto follows the river through the wild and romantic valleys of Fùmegn and Camana.
