From Verscio, reachable by car or with the Centovallina (Locarno-Domodossola train), the hike starts with a steep climb that leads to a fantastic panorama. From the station, a narrow road leads to the main street. Here you need to cross the street and turn left towards the square, where the signs with directions are already located. A recently renovated hiking trail leads to the Oratorio Sant'Anna. This easy route is dotted with many steps and crosses a wonderful landscape populated by chestnut trees, birches, and beeches. After facing about 200 meters of elevation gain, you arrive at the Oratory, where you can take a well-deserved break. The small 17th-century chapel (not accessible) is a particularly quiet place with a charming view of Lake Maggiore, the Maggia delta, and the Centovalli. The trail through the forest is mostly flat up to Monte Zucchero, then descends back towards Verscio.
