Yoga Trail
Ascona-Locarno Tourism Verified partner
Explanation
The trail begins at Sass da Grüm, a hotel known for its special energy and an ideal place to spend two nights while visiting the Sentiero dello Yoga morning and evening. Set in a clearing in the forest, its positive energy (similar to Stonehenge) was discovered by current owner Peter Mettler who was looking to build property in the early 1980s.
The Yoga Trail aims to unite nature with the individual and to interlink the two. The great variety of shapes and colors we see and experience in the forest give us strength, inner peace and awaken our vital energy and joy of life.
On this journey we discover new paths while we perceive nature around us. At the same time, we also realize our own true nature. We direct our senses to the outside world, and return time and again to an inward focus. We pause to listen consciously to our inner voice. Nature responds - with her sounds, flows, scents and energies. In this way, the journey on the Yoga Trail becomes an intensive dialog between man and nature, and brings us closer to ourselves.
The Yoga Trail is structured as a Vinyasa. In sanskrit, Vinyasa means "to place in a special way". Hikers on the Yoga Trail move through the forest in a specific manner and position themselves at selected spots.
