Alla Capanna

A well-kept secret located in the middle of the wild and romantic Centovalli region, beautifully set against the backdrop of Monte Comino and yet only thirty minutes away from Locarno. The guesthouse has six simple yet comfortable rooms with shared bathroom and separate showers. The total of 17 beds are divided into three double rooms, one single room, one family room with four beds and one spacious room with six beds for groups. The comfort studio has its own bathroom and combines simple luxury with authentic mountain ambience and is located about five minutes' walk from the Capanna. A small and refined menu based on traditional Ticino cuisine delights guests during day and nighttime. The room rates include breakfast.
The guesthouse at 1150 metres above sea level can only be reached by cable car from Verdasio or on foot along one of the many hiking trails from Intragna, Corcapolo, Verdasio or the Onsernone Valley. Verdasio is in the middle of the Centovalli, the valley that connects Ticino with Domodossola in Italy. By train, the "Centovallina", you can reach Verdasio Stazione on a spectacular train ride in 40 minutes from Locarno. By car it takes 30 minutes. Parking is available at the valley station of the cable car or on the road towards Verdasio. The cable car takes you up the mountain in six minutes at least every half hour. On the five-minute walk from the mountain station to the Capanna, you will already be immersed in a different world of wild and untouched nature. It is advisable to arrive with little luggage.
