From Loco (670 m), where a short visit to the small village center is worth it to admire the typical Ticino houses, head north. Without gaining much altitude, you stay for a long time in the dense forest until the clearing of the valley floor, where you reach the small group of houses at the foot of the Garina Pass.
From Mulegn, it goes gently downhill to Auressio, from where the steep ascent to Cortone (1000 m) begins, where you can enjoy a view over a large part of the still very wild Onsernone valley.
Over the west ridge, the last ascent is on an easy path up to Pizzo Salmone (1553 m). Once at the top, you look out high above Lago Maggiore.
