The Visconti Castle, emblem of Locarno’s medieval and Renaissance history, welcomes guests in its charming courtyard, enhanced by a picturesque portico, for events that leave a lasting impression.

After the conquest of the Castle by the Visconti, the Duke of Milan, Filippo Maria Visconti, granted Locarno and its valleys as a fief to Franchino Rusca in 1439. It was then that Franchino, together with his sons Giovanni and Pietro, transformed the ancient fortress into a residence of princely character. Thanks to their intervention, the palace acquired refined elegance, inspired by Milanese princely palaces, giving the Locarno fortification renewed prestige.

The courtyard, framed by historic walls and adorned with the coats of arms of the Rusca family and the Swiss bailiffs, as well as magnificent stained-glass windows, still preserves the charm of that era. This space, rich in history and atmosphere, provides the ideal setting for receptions, concerts and cultural initiatives wishing to stand out for elegance and authenticity.

In case of adverse weather conditions, no indoor spaces are available, except for the portico.
